Yak Team Wahed
Yak Team Wahed is the term used by my uncle and the troops in Afghanistan. It means "one team together". Pronounced "Yaak Teem-me Wah-Head", I used the term in my last post as a tribute to the soldiers who have died as we remembered them yesterday, and I didn't have the time to give them the credit they deserve. So I would like to say thank you to all the men and women who have died serving this country I call home.

Reasons Why
I don't think I've taken the time to back, up my opinions, to anyone. There are multiple opinions one can have and these are just a few popular opinions in today's world. I don't believe in premarital sex because I'm the result of such an action. My family life is Hell and I couldn't wish this on anyone.
I don't smoke, and I feel that it should be banned everywhere but peoples' private property (i.e. house, yard, car); this opinion is based on the fact that my Grandmother, all her sisters - except the one who didn't smoke, my Step-Grandfather, and my Great-Grandfather all died from smoking related diseases. My Great-Uncle is living with emphysema, also. You may say that these tragedies only possibly had to do with smoking, but believe you me that these people smoked, and smoked, and smoked. My Step-Grandpa is said to have smoked a cigar an hour.
I'm Pro-Life, half because my religion tells me to be, but also because I know that if I'd been aborted I wouldn't be here. You should think about that every time you approve of an abortion, "What if I was aborted? What would the world have missed?" If there are any other topics you would like my opinion on, just ask.

Working out the kinks
The layout is a little messy. I understand that. If a certain somebody sees this, maybe they could help me fix it tomorrow.

Wishing on a Sunny Day
It's been a great week here in (censored). Besides Monday and Tuesday, the week has been in the 70's-80's. Today we hit 90! It's nice to enjoy the warm weather after the cold spell we've been having.

My frustration grew this week when my father said that it would be difficult for me to go to a friend's house to work on an assignment because he wanted to watch the local parade. How selfish of him. I understand that he only has me every so often, but when I'm at his house my life doesn't freeze. I can't tell my teacher that I need an extension because I'm at my dad's this weekend. Also, I'm at his house for Memorial Day, which means that I'll be going to another town's parade. Some of my friends will be there, and I hope he lets me hang out with them. I don't even like parades. I don't see the glory in watching the same floats go down the street passing out candy. We should be honoring people who gave up their lives to keep our civil liberties alive. If you couldn't tell, I'm in a bad mood.

Catholics to the End
We need to stand up for our beliefs. As Catholics we cannot allow one of the best known Catholic Universities to bestow an honorary award on an abortion extremist. By now I hope you know that I am talking about Notre Dame's decision to give an award to our President. While his speaking is no major issue for many Catholics, the degree is. It like a KKK member receiving an award from the NAACP, it shouldn't happen because it is against the organization's morals. The link brings you to an non-Catholic writer's point of view on the issue and Mary Ann Glendon's refusal of the Laetare Medal, which only is awarded to an American Catholic. Her reason can be found in the URL and there is no need for me to cite the site more than necessary.

It's Been Awhile 2
Wow, I took a look at the date of my last post, and it's hard to imagine how much has happened since then. Let's see, we put on our Spring Musical, I got confirmed, and I saw Kramer vs. Kramer, Phantom of the Opera, and The Soloist. The first two were amazing the third not as much. I understand the idea for the movie, to promote the awareness of homelessness and the abuse on said persons, but the movie really lacked a hook. I spent most of the movie fidgeting because I couldn't get into to the movie, also I had just finished Opera a few hours previous and was tired of sitting. It's time for me to sleep so I can greet Mother's Day with a smile, maybe. I'll post soon I promise.
