Great News
"No news, is good news."
~Unknown

Update on my grandfather. He met with his oncologist today and we found out it is a stage three cancer, not bad but not the best. We need to watch the things in his heart. His cancer is one in about a hundred that are diagnosed each year, which is rare but in my opinion not too uncommon, at least for his doctor who treats about 20 a year. So this news is exciting and brings joy to my week.

When It Calls, It Calls
"Be convinced that to be happy means to be free and that to be free means to be brave. Therefore do not take lightly the perils of war. "
~Thucydides

So it's finally sunk in, my uncles going on tour. The who, what, where, and when aren't important to you. I've known since for a while, but I just had a 'it's really going to happen' moment. I'm not naive or anything, I know that he might not come back home from there, but I have this scenario running in my head of him dying. It happens a lot, most of the time it actually takes place in the past. Is that weird? It's more of a what if he had died on that day kind of thing. I don't know anymore, I'm going numb about everything, and I can't seem to get out of this dark hole I'm falling in. I need to get out, I just don't know how. I don't need your pity either.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to OT
"Work is the curse of the drinking classes."
~Oscar Wilde

So the title's a little spoofed, and it's not entirely true. For those of my readers who do not know what OT stands for, it mean Occupational Therapy. It's where my grandfather learns how to cook with his new leg and stuff. Anyway, so a few days ago he had to go to the fridge, open the door, get the OJ, that means orange juice, then get a glass and pour himself a glass of the juice. So the nurse tells him to drink it cause there's no point in the juice going to waste. The nurse assures him that no one has drunk from the OJ and that it is perfectly fine. A few minutes later a man not to right in the head (the hospital specializes what do you expect?), went to the fridge grabbed the carton and drank straight from it!! The nurse didn't know which way to look.

Busy
"There is nothing so annoying as to have two people talking when you're busy interrupting"
~Mark Twain

I've been busy lately, hence the late update. My grandfather is doing better, the leg is gone and he left the hospital today to go to rehab, so the best is over I suppose. That's a funny thing to say, usually people say 'the worst is over', but I no the surgery was the better part of his battle with this disease. The cancer is stronger than was thought, and an unidentifiable spot was on his lung. They are going to keep an eye on it. This may have been one of the toughest posts to write.

At this moment I'm having an argument with one of my frineds. It really isn't a big deal and I shouldn't have started it. I feel terrible that I brought it up and I'm sorry to you. I'm going through a lot right now that wont fit in a blog. If you ask, I can't tell you because to be honest I'm not entirely sure myself. I just feel down in the dumps. No quote this time I don't feel like finding one. Maybe later? (quote added 10/29)

Guilty
"Every [wo]man is guilty of all the good [s]he didn't do."
~Volitare

Yesterday Sarah Palin was found guilty of abusing her power as Governor of Alaska. How stupid do you have to be to deny something like that. If she had wanted to be honest with the American public she could of said "Why yes I did abuse my power. Why am I telling you this? Because I think its important to be honest and...", but no she had her husband lie for her saying it was his fault. By this point if you haven't noticed that I have no repect for Palin, McCain, Obama, or Biden, then you should rethink your assumtions of me. I am unaffiliated for the simple reason that all canidates make mistakes, the person we need to pick should be the one who has made the most, learned from those mistakes, and then agknowleges them.

Update
"Some days there won't be a song in your heart. Sing anyway."
~Emory Austin

I have been waiting for today for a week. Today's the day that my grandfather's test results for his tumor arrive. He has a soft tissue cancer in his leg. Due to the position of the tumor his leg has to be amputated above the knee. He needs your prayers really badly. I'll be back later with another update.

30 Days
"Never spend your money before you have it."
~Thomas Jefferson

That's all the American adults have until Election Day 2008. That's the day they seal my generation's fate. We will either have 4 more years of Republican power, which most of my family would love to have (don't ask me why), or we will have 4 years of Democratic power, oh yeah, we also have a chance of 4 years of green/libertarian/or other independent party power (sure). I prefer one person to another. Yes that's right, if I could vote I would vote for myself. I honestly think I could do a better job than Mr. McCain or Mr. Obama or Mr. Nader, etc. Well I have to get ready, I'm appearing to a small group of people tomorrow (about 800). I will speak to them in Spanish, English. I will discuss arts and history to them. Okay so I'm just going to school but still.

In other news, the Depression of 2008 is all due to the gambling of bogus "insurance" policies. That's right, the investment companies decided it would be fun to sell fake "insurance" policies to the masses. By "insurance" I mean that they had no money to back the policies. So when the housing market went south the gambling went with it, the "insurance" couldn't be payed, and now I'm writing this post.

TGIF
"There will be a rain dance Friday night, weather permitting."
~George Carlin

I don't usually thank God for Fridays, but this week I've been in a rut that started last Friday. I have to finish a paper this weekend, well start and finish a paper this weekend. Tomorrow night I'm going out to a show (which ones not important). Maybe that's why I've been praying for a weekend since Sunday night. Writing a blog post wasn't part of my weekend plans. So...

Happy Holidays
"Everything boils down to the gag, the snap ending."
~Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit 451

I am one-hundred percent Roman Catholic. That being said, Happy New Year all my Jewish readers. I mean no disrespect when I say that I feel the utmost respect for all people and their religions. Happy end of Ramadan, excuse my ignorance but I don't know the proper name. Again please take no offense to this.

I just finished Fahrenheit 451, and if you haven't read it then stop reading this blog and go buy it. The book talks of the future where anything and everything is cens*red. Yes that's right, over one million books and magazines are cens*red. Why am I cens*ring the word cens*red, you ask, well simply because it's fun.
