Hidding in the Normal
Have you ever wanted to disappear into a different culture to escape the monotony of your life. More and more I crave to disappear into Mediterranean Europe and become a "local". I think it would be nice to no longer have to worry about homework and school fights, or unemployment and foreclosure. Perhaps I'm just a dreamer but I will fight to reach those goals.

This is post 89, which means there are only 10 posts until I reach 100! This will be an exciting moment in this blogs career (if you can call it that). I feel I have nothing good to say right now. I will come back later with a post with more depth.

Numbers, BIG
944 billion, 1.3 trillion, 3.6 billion, these are the numbers that float around the air of America. I'm sick of big bonuses, I'm sick of bailouts, and I'm sick of President Obama's budget. It is way to freaking big (fyi its the only ten digit number I mentioned). Yes this economy is in a slump, yes the uninsured are at greater risk for debt, yes these are both terrible things, but people need ot remember that we live in a supposed Constituional Republic, which was set forth by our Founding Fathers. Also people seem to have issues with Caoch Calhoun's salary. I give the man alot of credit for caoching the UCONN team, and maybe his salary is too high; however he should not be required to give back his money. Perhaps he should take a pay cut but you don't need to be a jerk about it.

One of Those Days
The weather today is what they in the weather business call "the kitchen sink". If you were to look outside your window here you would see the snow mixing with the mud, the grass and the puddles that are forming from the slow rain that will any second now become snow yet again.

I love the winter season, don't get me wrong, but it's February and this snow, to rain, to snow, to ice, to God knows what weather is getting on my last nerve. I am ready for spring and the warmth that comes with it. It won't be summer's weather, warm and humid, instead that mild and wet weather with the smell of rain in the air. I love that smell, after a light rain falls.

This weekend has brought some good entertainment to my life. Friday night I watched "A Diary of a Mad Black Woman", which was very good. I have always liked Tyler Perry's work. Saturday night I enjoyed the production "Our Town" on the live stage of a local school. The show is very powerful in its messages about living life to its fullest and loving every minute of it. Today brings myself to the movie "Die Another Day" which one of my favorite James Bond movies. I was supposed to see "Slumdog Millionaire" but my aunt wouldn't have it. I was encroaching on her "girl's afternoon". Oh well, that's the way life went and thats fine.

Typing about movies, the Academy Awards are tonight and I plan on enjoying the full show this year. I could not say who has been nominated for what, or who should win because I have seen very few of the movies nominated for anything. I wish the best of luck to my fellow actors, and cannot wait for the events that go along with the show.

What a very long post this has turned into.

It's A Small World After All?
Walt Disney World recently revamped the above ride, and from what I've read it sucks. They added Disney characters to the ride. Yes, I understand that Disney is about, Disney; however must they ruin some of the best rides because they aren't 'Disneyfied'. I remember sitting in the boat on 'It's a Small World After All' and watching all the animated persons dancing in unity, but now it seems children will be looking for their favorite characters.
It's late and I must get to sleep even though I know some of my friends won't go to sleep even though their bodies are screaming for them to slow down. I want them to know that I'm here for them and its okay for them to complain to me aboput anything and everything because I'm here for them.

Remember When?
Do you remember when television was something that revolved around shows of substance? How about when getting dizzy meant sitting a desk chair and spinning until you fell out of it? What about when PB was known as a food not a metal? Going on vacation meant seeing somewhere different, not an overly stressful schedule? What about those long Saturdays where you didn't have a care in the world, but now your too busy doing homework that you can't enjoy the sunshine? When being a child meant you were always right, your innocence made you 'adorable', and people told you to shoot for the moon until you realized life doesn't always go to plan? Do you remember that special toy or imaginary friend that was with you through thick and thin no matter how much trouble you got yourself (or others) in? I guess I'm in a nostalgic mood right now.

One More Thing
I failed to mention why the last post was titled "F*** You". My mother quit because her boss didn't give her another option. He had replaced her position and offered her a different one (with a much smaller paycheck). She refused the new job for reasons I won't disclose, which left only one option, to quit. I just wanted to tell him that he could go f*** himself. He is a terrible person who couldn't run a business if it were handed to him on a tin platter (due to the economy this saying could not longer afford a silver platter).

F*** You
My mother quit her job yesterday. Do not pity us this has been coming for some time we were just not expecting it today. If you didn't know she is a real estate agent and has been contemplating becoming a broker for quite awhile and this is just the final nail in the coffin. I'm a very spiritual person and you all know that; last night I sat with my eyes closed and I prayed a rosary for my family and it was uplifting. For those Catholics out there who are reading this, pray a rosary just once. Take the time out of your day and just sit there and pray to Mary for help and guidance and see how you feel.

I'm off from school right now and besides yesterdays news I'm feeling happier. It's so nice to wake up and know that you feel better now then you did before the break. As for plans, I'm enjoying as must R&R as I can get. Monday brings me to an English project the has been on rocky water for a while.

17 and Counting
Just wanted to put out there that this blog is 17 post away from the big 1-0-0!

Have you ever felt the need to hurt someone? I have. This person has these moments where they say the stupidest things imaginable. I mean she acts like a real baby sometimes. She needs to grow up and face the life that she has. She also likes to bring the people who matter the most to her down (on a side note she can't pick theatre seats). She can't comprehend some things either. Well there I go ranting about someone none of you know.

Congress passed Obama's stimulus package. The final price was $789 billion. I can't say that I'm happy or sad that this bill was passed because I like to live in the present not the possible future like some newscasters (if you call yelling at people and telling them how to think newscasting).

Really?!
Really Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique you figured it would be okay to dispose of a new-born in a plastic bag after the abortion went horribly wrong and the baby was born cause you had to arrive late? Really? (He was charged with malpractice, delegating responsibility to unlicensed personnel, and failing to keep an accurate medical record. His license was revoked.)

Sign of the Times
Happy Groundhog Day. Is it really happy though? Today's "holiday" is a stupid excuse for a world fixated on tradition. While tradition is important sometimes, waiting up for a rodent to determine if we're going to have six more weeks of winter (like always), or by some miracle will winter end sooner (cause a rodent knows better than scientists). Have you ever read the short story "The Lottery" it is very good and sends a powerful message to us all. Also one can read about the Naciremas.

Last night the NFL team the Stealers, won the Super Bowl for a record sixth time. Also the commercials this year (for those of you who don't know, these are usually the best new commercials) sucked. Granted there were a few good commercials, but the majority were terrible. Perhaps it's just another sign of the times.

Leading into the next topic, zoos across the country are being forced to cut spending. Iceland elected its first woman Prime Minister after its former Prime Minister resigned due to the country's economic decline. What once was one of the richest countries in the world has gone bankrupt due the times. CEO's however still manage to bring in big bonuses. The companies claim that the executives have to be paid so they don't leave. This statement is flawed for two reasons:
1) The executives put you in the hole so how good can they really be?
2) Where else are they going to go?! If they wont accept their pay cuts then let them go find a different company looking to hire a new executive for their prices.
