i am from
an unadorned maple mantle,
from the Belleek that sits on my shelves.
I am from windows facing west, out upon winter
weather, I am from a pallid barn that sits to honor the years gone by
I am from the Boulders resting in the water. offering a perch to a blue heron.
The smell of split wood clings to the mist, just above the surface.

I don't usually thank God for Fridays, but this week I've been in a rut that started last Friday. I have to finish a paper this weekend, well start and finish a paper this weekend. Tomorrow night I'm going out to a show (which ones not important). Maybe that's why I've been praying for a weekend since Sunday night. Writing a blog post wasn't part of my weekend plans. So...
